Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Dedication

In every Habitat home, you’ll find the work and dedication of many people, all working with a common goal: helping a family build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Sweat Equity

At Habitat, sweat equity is a new homeowner investing in their home or one for another family. It’s not a form of payment, but an opportunity to work alongside volunteers to bring to life a family’s dream of owning a home.

Finance Education

Future Habitat homeowners participate in financial education classes, often before the building process even begins.

Do you qualify?

Applying for a Habitat for Humanity home is easy, but you must be eligible. Please review the requirements to ensure that you meet the qualifications for the program.

Learn how the Self-help Method works and if it is right for you. Working with other families you build each others homes. This saves at least 20% off the cost of the home through labor savings.

Interested in volunteering?

There are numerous ways you can help. We are constantly looking for volunteers to work on build sites, help in the ReStore, assist with office work, and prepare lunches for builds, as well as numerous other responsibilities and tasks.

Donations

Your donation helps provide families with strength, stability and self-reliance. When families have an affordable home, they are able to invest in their community and their families. They are able to ensure their families are healthy, succeed in school and work and give back to their community.

Caroline & Essex Habitat for Humanity is a locally run, independent affiliate of Habitat International and is responsible for Caroline and Essex Counties.
For over 30 years, they built homes alongside families who pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat’s repair program addresses critical repairs around the home.

With Habitat’s help, and the help of the community, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
